The Tale:

EEA83D19-B762-4B48-9792-F1B8FED284A4.JPEG

Thomas, Ben and Niall are three students in their last year of studying film at university, and the time has come to face the challenge of making their last short film together. The short in question is a fantasy-comedy centred on three students suspiciously similar to themselves who are also in their final year, who accidentally end up on a quest to get home.

Getting this film made becomes far more difficult than they could ever have imagined, meaning they end up acting in the film, thus beginning an integrated double-layered story of friendship and loyalty as we watch their fictional quest unfold alongside their real-life production struggles.

On their quest they meet a magical Wizard who requires three not-so-mystical items to be delivered to him: water, yeast and hops, but getting these items will put their courage, wits and bond to the test, as well as their filmmaking skills…

The Performers:

Danny Roberts

as Thomas

IMG_2748.jpg
Thomas is the unofficial leader of the group, unafraid to speak his mind when something doesn't sit right. He looks out for the other two, so feels a lot of pressure to always take control of situations.

Ross McCartan

as Ben

IMG_2749.jpg
Ben is also unafraid to speak his mind, but in more of a defensive way than Thomas. He's not got a plan for when he finishes university yet, and is a lot more stressed about that than he lets on.

Joseph Rutland

as Niall

IMG_2752.jpg
Niall is the least vocal of the group, often picking role likes editing to avoid having to lead the crew. He isn't afraid of being the butt of the joke though, always quipping back in self preservation.

Alex Jagger Kryslur

as The Wizard 1

IMG_2750.jpg
He's eccentric, energetic and bizarre... and that barely scratches the surface. The Wizard is a mystical being who's power is vast, but only used when necessary. But where did he come from?

Orrin Glendinning

as The Wizard 2

IMG_2751.jpg
Perhaps even more weird than his predecessor, the second Wizard is called upon when the original becomes too busy. However, he's just as mystical... and just as unpredictable.
